Today the whole world unites to express its support for children suffering from cancer and their parents, without whom the fight against deadly diseases is impossible! Unfortunately, the issue of prevention, early detection of cancer among children, timely and correct treatment in many countries of the world has not yet been solved! And the reasons for the development of cancer in small inhabitants of the planet scientists have not figured out. But it is known that the most common childhood cancer diseases are lymphoma, brain cancer, leukaemia. According to WHO statistics, every year up to 500,000 children on earth are diagnosed with cancer. Alas, a large percentage of young patients cannot be saved! In many countries, the percentage of child mortality from cancer reaches 70-80 per cent.
In Ukraine, there are also many problems in paediatric oncology! There are not enough modern medical centres for early diagnosis and quality treatment of children. And the treatment of the above diseases is quite expensive! There is a lack of specialised specialists, psychologists-oncologists. Every year, according to available statistics, more than a thousand children in Ukraine receive a terrible diagnosis! And there is nothing more terrible in the world than to see every day the eyes of children suffering from pain, but struggling with death! Therefore, the support of the public is important and very necessary!
And in Brovary, where the issues of helping cancer patients are taken seriously, such support is carried out not only in words, but also in deeds!
On 15 February 2024, specialists in social work of the Centre of Social Services of Brovary City Council, for the purpose of material support, held a charity event “Together for Life” and provided 15 families of Brovary United Territorial Community, which bring up children with cancer, food and words of gratitude for endurance and courage in the fight against the disease.
