An obereg or amulet, apotropey is such a thing (object), which is believed to have special protective (magical) properties and is able to protect the owner of such a thing, his home from troubles, misfortunes and even evil spirits! Of course, now few people believe in such properties of ordinary material objects, but the art of making amulets has survived. Simply as folk art!
At the scheduled art therapy session under the guidance of Lyudmila Magura the Foundation’s wards were engaged in making homemade amulets. The basis for the protective amulet was dense cardboard. With the help of scissors the future amulet was given the desired shape. Then on the cardboard base with the help of glue they put a sackcloth, and decorated the contour with twine. The amulet was decorated with grains of various cereal plants, coffee, garlic slices.
Such handicrafts have already fulfilled an important role! Their making gave the masters a good mood and relieved stress. Now you can give amulets to your friends or decorate your house, apartment! Let them protect from sadness and bad luck!
