Ukrainian decorative and ornamental folk painting, the famous Petrykivka painting, as a direction clearly developed at the end of the 19th century. But some items painted in this style date back to the 18th century. The painting was used to decorate household items, wall decoration, decoration of towels, clothes, and so on. The painting is characterized by floral ornament.
At the session of art therapy, the wards of the Foundation tried themselves in the role of masters of Petrykivka painting. Such activity develops creative thought, and the bright colors that are used for work cheer up and make the master switch in a positive way. The lesson was held in the office of the Foundation under the guidance of Lyudmila Magura.
