This day has been celebrated annually since 2001. Its main goal is to draw society’s attention to the problem of pediatric oncology and to support children and their families in a difficult period of life. Therefore, the symbol of this day is a golden ribbon, signifying the value of a child’s life.
It is important to know – in the early stages the disease among children is well treatable, so it is important to recognize the dangerous symptoms of the disease in time. Alas, this is not easy to do on your own, so parents should know – if the child has a long fever, weakness, lethargy, the baby is inactive and complains of pain in the joints, head, abdomen – immediately contact a pediatrician! Children’s health, first of all, depends on the attention of parents!
The main childhood cancers are leukemias, malignant brain tumors, lymphomas and solid tumors such as neuroblastoma and nephroblastoma.
As a reminder, more than 400,000 cases of childhood cancer are diagnosed each year worldwide. 150,000 children and adolescents die from different types of cancer every year. But, if in developed countries about 80-85% of children recover after treatment, in underdeveloped countries, including Ukraine, 50% of children with cancer die from such diseases!
Charitable Foundation “Inna” expresses solidarity with all children and their families, who are currently struggling with severe cancer!
