Charitable Foundation “Inna” continues its activities!
As we have repeatedly said, rehabilitation measures for patients with cancer diagnoses play an important role in the process of treatment and recovery.
Another session of art therapy was held at the Inna Charitable Foundation Office. The lesson was held under the guidance of Olena Sushinska. It was an unusual job. Felt therapy was offered to the Foundation’s wards.
Felt therapy is based on the natural qualities of the material for work – wool! It is the oldest material which man works with. Felt was used for making clothes, home elements, handicrafts, ritual ceremonies, for medical and other purposes. Wool itself is an environmentally friendly and tectally warm material. Working with it is a pleasure and a joy!
Olena Sushinska explains the specifics of this type of therapy in this way: ‘Felt therapy develops sensory-motor coordination, helps to show sincerity with oneself, freely express one’s thoughts and feelings, dreams and hopes, and free oneself from negative experiences’.
And, of course, in the course of the lesson, the wards of the Foundation could exchange views on pressing issues. And this is also an important component of the rehabilitation program!
