News - Fenichka (bauble) is a pledge of friendship. Art therapy session in the office | Inna Foundation

Do you know what a bauble is? So, a handmade bracelet made of bright threads, jute, colored ribbons or leather is called a fenya or fenichka (bauble). It owes its name to the English word thing (thing, object). Even in the last century, during the heyday of the hippie movement, baubles were given great importance! Bracelets of different colors denoted different wishes, expressions of life position or any preferences. So, for example, a black and yellow striped bauble means a wish for a good trip, and a plain red bracelet means a declaration of love. Hippies exchanged baubles as a sign of affection and wore them without taking them off. Therefore, such a bracelet is also called a symbol of friendship.

Making baubles is not hard work. The process is based on a simple weaving of threads. But what a pleasure people get when working with bright colored threads, creating intricate knots!

Therefore, at the next scheduled art therapy class, the wards of the Inna Foundation, within the framework of the Rehabilitation project, were engaged in weaving baubles under the guidance of Lyudmila Magura, President of the charitable organization.

The lesson aroused great interest on the part of the Foundation’s wards. The session was held in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. And the result was bright colored friendship bracelets – baubles!
