The importance of rehabilitation measures after active treatment of oncological diseases will be confirmed by any oncologist. According to the official website of the World Health Organisation, “rehabilitation is an essential health service for all persons suffering from acute or chronic diseases… therefore rehabilitation services should be available to everyone who needs them. Rehabilitation should not be an exclusive health service available only to those who are able to pay for it(!). Nor should it be seen as an optional service that can only be resorted to if other therapeutic and preventive measures fail“. Unfortunately, Ukraine lacks such free programmes for cancer patients, which is why the Inna Foundation has been focusing on its own Rehabilitation project for many years.
Thanks to the support of Brovary city administration this project continues this year! Already the second group of the Foundation’s wards underwent rehabilitation activities in Brovary Health and Rehabilitation Centre on the fitness programme Aquaaerobics. Exercises in water include walking and swimming on the spot or with a small movement, dance elements with the help of different sports equipment, load on different muscle groups. Classes were held under the guidance of an experienced instructor from 31 July to 12 August.
The second group consisted of 7 people. The cost of services paid by the Foundation was 9,150 UAH. The payment was made at the expense of funds allocated to the Foundation under the city “Programme of support, assistance to cancer patients in the treatment and prevention of oncological diseases”.
Earlier, the first group of the Foundation’s wards underwent a rehabilitation course.
The Inna Foundation continues its activities!
