Every year, on June 1, the whole world celebrates International Children’s Day! This is an important and necessary day! After all, children cannot be responsible for the mistakes of adults, but they are forced to suffer from many reasons caused by the activities of the older generation – hunger, wars and, of course, diseases caused by man-made factors. Many types of cancer are caused by such processes!
The official website of the World Health Organization reports that approximately 400,000 children and adolescents between the ages of birth and 19 develop cancer each year.
The most common childhood cancers include leukemias, brain cancers, lymphomas, and dangerous tumors such as neuroblastoma and nephroblastoma.
In high-income countries, where comprehensive services are generally available, more than 80% of children are cured of cancer. In low- and middle-income countries (which, alas, include Ukraine), according to the analysis, recovery occurs only in less than 30% of cases.
It is important to understand that childhood cancer is usually not preventable or detectable by screening. And therefore, parents should be very attentive to the state of health of children and their complaints about well-being.
Without children there is no future for any nation! Therefore, by its attitude towards children, the state shows its attitude towards its own future. That’s why the protection and treatment of children from cancer is the most important function of the state!
