And the Lord God brought forth out of the ground every tree that was pleasant to the sight and good for food, and the tree of life in the midst of heaven, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil’ (Gen. 2:9).

Tree of Life. The concept of the tree as the basis of the world order is present in one way or another in all known cultures of the civilisations of mankind. Ancient Egyptian, Chinese, Slavic, Celtic, Turkic, Persian myths and legends inform: ancient peoples believed that the tree of life is the basis of the universe. The Tree of Life is also mentioned by Charles Darwin in his revolutionary work ‘The Origin of Species’.

At the next art therapy session, under the guidance of Lyudmila Magura, the Foundation’s wards tried to reproduce mythical trees. For this purpose they used cardboard, glue, twine and jewellery. This is a very exciting work and useful for stress relief. And who knows, maybe this is how ancient peoples imagined the Tree of Life!

The Foundation continues its activities!
