The Sarnensky district prosecutor’s office announced a suspicion to a resident of the Sarnensky district for committing fraudulent actions aimed at taking possession of the funds of charitable assistance (part 3 of article 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
During the pre-trial investigation, it was established that at the beginning of this year, a 24-year-old man created a fake page on the Facebook social network, where he published an announcement about raising funds for the treatment of a child with cancer, while indicating a bank card account intended for raising funds, which he was going to assign later.
The investigation continues. Now the issue of choosing a measure of restraint for the suspect is being decided, all the circumstances that are important for the investigation are being established. The pre-trial investigation is being carried out by investigators of the SV Sarny ROP GU NP in the Rivne region.
The maximum liability for the commission of these criminal offenses provides for imprisonment for up to 8 years.
We urge citizens, according to the official statement of the Rivne Regional Prosecutor’s Office, to be prudent and provide charitable assistance only to official foundations that are engaged in such activities on an ongoing basis and are registered in the prescribed manner.
