Staff of the Inna Foundation continue their work aimed at the prevention of cancer. We have repeatedly reported that a healthy and proper diet is one of the most important factors that protect the human body from cancer.
Winter time is coming. With the use of fresh fruits and vegetables at this time of the year, namely, such products are necessary for our body to prevent malignant tumors, problems arise. However, in stores in sufficient quantities there are gifts of nature that can reliably protect us from a terrible disease. And the well-known bananas belong to them!
Bananas are the most popular fresh fruit in the world, according to the world’s most popular health food website “Eat this, not that“. People eat an average of over 13 pounds (approximately 6 kg) of bananas per person per year. Bananas contain many biologically active compounds, including carotenoids and flavonoids, which are known to have many benefits – maintain visual acuity, reduce the risk of heart disease and certain types of cancer. These fruits contain vitamins A, C, B6, as well as B2, B3, B4, B5, B9, minerals calcium, selenium, potassium, calcium and many others, necessary to protect the body from malignant tumors.
As you know, scientific studies have revealed a relationship between the level of pyridoxine (B6) in the blood and a decrease in the risk of certain types of cancer. On average, one banana weighs 150-200 g. Therefore, the consumption of two bananas per day is more than 50% of the recommended daily intake of this vitamin. And vitamin C by 20%. They also provide 10% of the daily human needs for potassium and manganese. In addition, bananas do not contain fat, cholesterol and sodium.
But that’s not all the anti-cancer properties of bananas! Banana is a prebiotic food that provides the body with fiber and resistant starch for the human body to produce butyrate. Butyrate, also known as butyric acid (C4H8O2), is one of the three essential fatty acids naturally produced in the intestines. Scientists have found that this acid inhibits cancer cells and is a reliable barrier against certain types of cancer, including the most dangerous colorectal cancer! Such a study was conducted by staff of the Department of Nutrition and Food Hygiene, Southern Medical University (PRC). Its results are reported by the scientific portal Plos one.
Researchers suggest that eating bananas helps the body increase the amount of butyric acid produced by the intestines, which in turn reduces the risk of colon cancer.
These are the amazing properties that bananas have! Both delicious and healthy!
