Yes, E-171 is now officially banned in the European Union from January 1, 2022! The fact is that such a supplement is recognized as genotoxic! This year, the European Food Safety Authority (ESFA) made this conclusion based on many years of research. Genotoxicity refers to the ability of a chemical to damage genetic material in cells.
